Mina Ochtman was born in 1862 in Laconia, New Hampshire, and went to New York in 1886 and studied at the Art Students League with Kenyon Cox.  In 1891 she married her artist husband Leonard Ochman. They moved to Greenwich Connecticut.  They often visited the Old Lyme Colony during the summers but ended up buying a fine property called Greyledge which they used for their many impressionist landscapes. She and her husband many other artists formed the Greenwich Society of Artists.
