The artist on this painting was Harvey Otis Young was born in Lyndon, Vermont. He trained in Paris at the Academie Julian as well as in Munich, Germany in 1878. He was the called the leading artist in the 19th Century in Colorado. He painted gold mines and landscapes. He died in 1901.
