Winfield Scott Clime was born in 1881 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He was the co-founder of the Washington D.C. Society of Landscape Painters in 1913.  He was also a photographer and photographed the first flight of Wilber and Orville Wright.  He also painted in the summer in the Old Lyme community and exhibited at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut.  He primarily painted rural landscapes and country dwellings.
