Frank Kleinholz was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1901 and died in Miami Florida in 1987. Frank Kleinholz was the son of a blind father and a mother who supported the family by running their delicatessen. Kleinholz helped his family by selling newspapers and errands in the neighborhood. He became an attorney and practiced insurance law until 1945. He was painting since 1930 under two contemporary artists Yasuo Kuniyoshi and Sol Wilson. He quickly achieved high recognition for his paintings and was included in exhibition in 1941 called “Direction in American Painting” at the Carnegie Institute as a Abstractionist
