Charles Sindelar: Charles Sindelar was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1876. Sindelar worked in a printing company before going to New York City at age 15 to pursue his dreams. He was an apprentice for a commercial artist and studied at the National Academy of Design. He studied under Carl Hecker and A. Mucha. He made menu covers for the Lotus Club for the next 20 years. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club before moving to Los Angeles, California. Sindelar exhibited at the Cartoonist Club, Breakers Club (Santa Monica) California Society of Etchers, Bullock’s in 1933. He was a member of the Laguna Beach Association.
