George Drew was born in 1875 in Massachusetts. He was a student of Henry Pember Smith who had much influence over Drew's style. Drew was a landscape painter that had a very tight painting style that showed lush greenery. He was a known as a Hudson River School painter for his use of light in his canvases. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design, Allied Artists of America, the Salons of America and New York and New Jersey State Fairs. Drew died in New York in 1968.
