Fried Pal’s dates are from 1893-to 1976. He signed his paintings in the European manner of the last name first. Fried Pal studied in Budapest at the Hungarian Academie under Professor Pohl and in Paris under Claude Monet and Lucien Simone. French Impressionist School also influenced him by the works of Renoir and Degas. Fried Pal is known for his beautiful paintings of women. He moved from his home to the United States shortly after World War II. He taught at the Academy of Arts in New York and developed his unique style. In the ’50s and ’60s, he painted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and the Gabor sisters.
